Watch Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs

By Annie Stone

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is now entertaining the children of those who grew up in the 1980s and enjoyed this book when it came out in 1982. It's about a town where a wacky inventor creates a machine that causes weather to arrive in the form of food by raining hamburgers, mashed potatoes, and sometimes meatballs.

Those who loved the book as kids will want to watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs online and they don't have to be accompanied by a kid to enjoy it. Plenty of other adults are excited about seeing it too. This movie makes some departures from the book on which it is based, but the underlying story and moral are similar.

The visual effects are stunning, particularly since it is a 3D movie. But even if you don't watch it in 3D, you'll appreciate the scenery, which manages to by hyperreal and surreal at the same time.

Watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs online, and you'll enjoy a visual feast in a world where tornadoes are made of spaghetti and sledding is done on ice cream. The one responsible for all this is the main character Flint Lockwood, who in service to his fellow human beings creates a machine that turns water into food.

Convinced that his machine is a failure, he's surprised one day to find food falling from the sky.The machine, launched into the sky, mixes with weather systems and causes precipitation to fall in the form of food. The edible weather is fun and exciting at first.

Baseball games aren't called due to rain, but rather, due to pie. The kids think that it's super nifty when school is canceled not because of snow, but because of a pancake blanketing it (along with giant butter pats).

You can watch Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs online, but if you're watching it on a laptop computer, you might want to stay out of the kitchen. The power of cinematic suggestion can be quite strong, you know.
