There are so many great games for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It is difficult to narrow down a list to the top 10 best SNES games ever created. There are many games that could have, or should have, made this list. Here are some of the best SNES games of all-time.
10 - Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting - This game gave the Street Fighter characters new color schemes, new special techniques, and additional game speed. The game replaced the need for arcade operators to install various hacks which allowed for increased speed in game play.
9 - EarthBound - Although not very successful in the United States, EarthBound was extremely successful in Japan. It was praised there for its humorous depictions of American culture (can't imagine why it sold poorly in the US) and parody of the RPG genre. Since then, it has become a cult classic.
8 - Final Fantasy II - Although not as ground breaking in the graphics department, FFII was praised for its content and the game's length. It added many of the features to the Final Fantasy series that fans would later come to expect from all Final Fantasy games.
7 - Mega Max X - Capcom's release for the SNES was a critical success. Mega Man X brought a new image to the series and was responsible for over a dozen follow-up and spin off games. It was identical to its predecessor series Mega Man, but added a host of new features to the game.
6 - Chrono Trigger - Considered by some to best the best RPG of all time on the SNES, Chrono Trigger has also made the number slot on many other overall lists as well. Its primary competition in the RPG category comes with the Final Fantasy series, specifically Final Fantasy III. But Chrono Trigger is definitely one of the best games of all time on any console.
5 - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - Often referred to simply as the Super Mario RPG, this game was first released in 1996 to great reviews. The game setting was well received and garnered great praise from both fans and reviewers for the quality of the graphics and visual style.

3 - Final Fantasy III - The first of the Final Fantasy games to feature the job-change system. This, and other revolutionary developments, has made FFIII stand out as one of the best, if not the best, game in a series of great games. It still continually makes many reviewer lists as one of the best games ever.
2 - Super Metroid - A single-player, action-platform game, Super Metroid was the third installment in the Metroid series. Upon release, it was awarded with Game of the Month, Best Action Game of the Year, and as one of the Best Games of All Time by multiple reviewers.
1 - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - This game may not be number one on every list of the best SNES games ever, but for any fan of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System it absolutely must make the list.
