Benefits of A Cheap 50cc Moped Scooter

By Stephen Michael Mihajlov

Finding A Cheap 50cc moped scooter is easy and beneficial for many. Besides the obvious gas savings a motor scooter provides, you might be pleasantly surprised with the many benefits of owning a scooter. Moped scooters come in a variety of styles and sizes and are a great alternative to getting around town and doing errands quickly.

Kids love the motor scooter mostly because they are so easy to ride and operate. No need to learn how to shift gears, just turn the throttle on the handle and off you go. Motorcycles are heavy and much more challenging to ride. Many 50cc Scooters do not require drivers permits in some states, allowing more young adults and kids to ride.

Another benefit of moped scooters is the cost. You can find a quality gas scooter for under $1000. Annual car maintenance is well over that price and you will also spend much more money on fuel. You can see why scooters are so popular around the world and becoming desirable here in America.

With the rising gas prices, it is quite challenging to meet other expenses. Moped scooters will save hundreds or perhaps thousands annually in fuel expenses. Most scooters will get over 80mpg compare to your typical car getting less than 20 mpg.

Another benefit is that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) approve motor scooters. With an EPA and DOT approval, vehicles meet their strict standards and can be registered as being street legal vehicle in all 50 states. In other words, they can be driven on the street. However, these vehicles aren't designed for speed so as a precaution you may want to stay off the highway or interstate.

As you can see, the benefits of owning a motor scooter are great. Not only are they fun to use and easy to operate, but the gas scooters are very economical. Lastly, you will not have a hard time finding a good parking spot, saving you more time.

Swing Trading Explained (Part I)

By Ahmad Hassam

Lets take the analogy of a cricket team. There are 11 players in each team in the match. All players are talented and super fit. Everyone can throw and catch the ball. Everyone is a hard hitter. However some are more skilled at balling. Others are more skilled at batting. Not many runs will be made and the match will be lost if the baller is going to do the job of the batter. Not knowing what type of a trader you are can make or break your trading career. Determining your trading style is very important right from the beginning.

Investing in the markets is also the same. It depends on your personality makeup what type of trading is best suited to you. In general there are three types of trading: Positions trading, swing trading and day trading.

Position Trading is generally the buy and hold strategy of investing in stocks over a long haul. In currency trading, position trading means you are in a trade for many months. Usually positions traders are in a trade for a large long term move like when you carry trade. Options traders can also be position traders through covered calls.

Swing trading is possibly the most dynamic of the three types of trading. A swing trader is able to switch up holding times quickly as the market demands. Swing traders take advantage of technical and fundamental analysis. Swing Trading means taking short term positions in anticipation of quick market movements over a series of days or weeks.

Day trading is not easy and it is certainly not a hobby. Sometimes when the positions warrants holding for a longer period, day trading can become swing trading! In Day Trading, you attempt to capitalize on intraday movements with the markets often trading on momentum and news. Day traders are also known as Kings of Stress.

Day trading is ideal for those who are able to handle erratic market movements while actually also having time to monitor the positions throughout the day. You should note that if you dont have time to watch your trades every moment, you should not think of day trading. Day trading is the riskiest of the three trading styles.

Swing Trading Is a Better Alternative to Day Trading Many people are attracted to the glamour and excitement of day trading. Day trading hardly ever ends up well especially if the trader has no previous professional trading experience. Only 10% of the day traders succeed. Most day trader usually blow up their accounts and fade away.

Swing trading can be on the other hand a much more effective trading style especially if you are a newer trader. By holding positions overnight and even for a few weeks, you can expose less money for larger moves. If you are a new trader, think about it for a moment.

Does The NHL Still Matter?

By Denise I Smithson

Hockey was once one of the four major American sports. The big four were the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. But yet, even as some in those group dominate the others (the NFL dominates all sports in terms of popularity), the NHL has not been able to really keep up with the others.

In fact, hockey is not truly considered to be in that big four grouping any longer. Of course, a more accurate description of the sports climate might show that NASCAR and MMA have joined the NFL, NBA and MLB in that top tier. Hockey however is on the outside looking in, no longer enjoying the popularity it once did.

Why did the NHL suffer this rapid decline? Was it the lockout which caused there to be no 2004-2005 season? The lockout was only a symptom of a deeper problem; sadly, it all has to do with money rather than the merits of hockey as a sport. NHL franchises began finding themselves in a sticky situation; salaries for players continued to climb even as revenues declined for many teams. Other than hugely popular franchises like the Rangers and the Red Wings, teams found themselves simply unable to pay the salaries commanded by many NHL players.

As any fan who lives in a city with a NHL franchise knows, declining ticket sales aren't the cause of NHL franchises' slumping revenues; games continue to be well attended and eagerly looked forward to. The reason for the lower revenue has to do with broadcast rights, a significant source of income for the NHL. Hockey is simply less popular as a televised sport than it once was.

While the lockout wasn't in itself the cause of the NHL's problems, it certainly didn't help. When hockey returned to television in the 2005-2006 season, ESPN passed on the broadcast rights for NHL games. OLN (now known as Versus) picked up the broadcast rights - this network has a much smaller reach than ESPN and correspondingly shallower pockets. As a result, the NHL continues to have financial difficulties and many hockey fans are unable to receive NHL games at all, something that does not bode well for the NHL's ability to recapture the attention of sports fans.

There is also the problem that many fans think that hockey is a sport which doesn't lend itself well to the medium of television. Fans prefer to watch hockey games in person; and NHL games are often sold out. However, hockey fans think that some of the speed and the finesse of the sport are lacking in televised games. Sadly, this has led to hockey being harder and harder to watch at all and there are a lot of people who may never know just what they're missing.

Therefore the answer to the question is that no, hockey is no longer one of the major sports in this country. It has lost it's place in that upper echelon, and is struggling for a strategy to get back. It needs to find a way to make its television games more exciting, while also getting those games aired in a spot where more people can view them. Until both of those happen it may be hard for the NHL to regain the spotlight it once had.

Biking is Thriving in Marin County, CA " Where Mountain Biking Began

By David DuPont

Whatever type of bicycling you prefer " BMX, Mountain or Road bicycling, Marin is a great place to do it. The terrain popular with BMXers, as well as established biking trails, and paved bike pathways are all found throughout the County. It is quite well known that Marin County was the birthplace of Mountain biking. BMX and Mountain biking aside, the most popular form of biking nowadays is Road bicycling.

Beginning with some history, its interesting to know that well-known BMX biker Billy Savage lived and biked in Marin from 1976 to 1983, but BMX, as a category, isnt as common in Marin as the other types of biking.

BMX bicycles were designed for stunts, tricks, and racing on hilly dirt tracks. They have a single gear ratio with a freewheel and are built with smaller frames and wheels with wider, treaded tires. They take a beating during some extreme sporting events so they have to be extremely sturdy machines!

When BMX events were part of the 2008 Summer Olympics in China it was clear that BMX had finally arrived. There were events in four different venues, which was a first for the sport. Half of the first six medals in BMX racing ever awarded in the history of the Olympics went to U.S. cyclists.

For complete information about each of the individuals who participated in mountain biking in Marin during the 1970s to make it the world-class sport that it is today visit the Web site www.klunkerz.com. Mountain biking is rough and tough going! A good day isnt complete without getting at least some mud in your teeth.

Mountain biking pioneers did a lot of their biking on downhill trails they carved out around Mount Tamalpais in the 1970s. This was when Joe Breeze, Gary Fisher and others converted cruisers and balloon-tire bicycles into machines that could weather any type of road conditions.

Billy Savage recently directed a film about the early days of mountain biking in Marin called Klunkerz. In the process of making his film, what he found fascinating is that all the pioneers are very committed to the bicycle as transportation, and to the ecological and physical benefits of cycling to this day. They gave those old Klunkerz a new life, rescuing them out of trashcans and junkyards. They were reducing, reusing, and recycling long before it was hip to be green. They all continue to live this way in all aspects of their lives.

As the county establishes more bike paths where serious road cyclists can do some serious biking Road bicycling has become very popular in recent years. The Marin County Bicycling Coalition (www.marinbike.org) promotes safe bicycling for everyday transportation and recreation. With the MCBC goal for 20% of trips in Marin County to be made by walking or bicycling, Marin County is one of only four counties nationwide that are engaged in a federal Non-motorized Transportation Pilot Program that promotes road bicycling, particularly commuting.

This and other initiatives underway under the umbrella of this ambitious organization are all addressed by the MCBC Web site. One of their Web pages has links to an exciting array of informative pages, including the following:

* 50+ Good Reasons to Bicycle

* Basic Cycling Essentials

* Bike Riding for Fun

* Cyclist Etiquette

* Benefits of Bicycle Commuting

* The Bicycle Map of Marin (available free when joining the Marin County Bicycling Coalition)

* Information about riding the North-South Greenway from San Francisco to Petaluma

Emergency LED Flashlights - The Features that will Keep You Prepared in Any Emergency

By Darren Bradley

The thing about emergencies that leaves us so unprepared is the very nature f emergencies is that we never know when they are going to happen. Your experience is going along just as planned, then certain emergencies such as fires happen in the blink of an eye.

In as far as being prepared for any emergency, one of the things we have always been told is to keep a flashlight on you at all times. Flashlights enable us to see things in an emergency where the light has gone out, or been cut off for safety purposes. But nowadays, LED flashlights are being used with more frequency than the typical old flashlight we grew up knowing. Here are several advantages which an LED flashlight has over the older typical light bulb flashlights.

One of the best things about emergency LED flashlights is that they are very small and compact, so you can bring them anywhere; some of them are so small that you can actually attach them to your key chain and have light anywhere and anytime you need it.

An emergency LED flashlight is also more reliable and will last longer in an emergency situation. They require less energy to produce light than their traditional counterparts. This is very important because you never know how long an emergency situation might last, and the last thing you need is the battery dying on you before its over.

An LED flashlight is also capable of producing a brighter light than regular flashlights. In areas that are extremely dark, this can be a lifesaver. This can be helpful to spot anyone else around you, or simply the obstacles that may be on the ground or at head-level. As far as the bulbs go, LED flashlight bulbs will last a lot longer than regular bulbs.

As far as bulbs go, LED flashlight bulbs also last longer in comparison to regular bulbs. Incandescent bulbs can easily burst or be broken and one of the scariest things that can happen is to not have light when you need it. LED bulbs are more reliable overall, including in times of emergency.

One of the best things about emergency LED flashlights is that in any water-related emergencies, they are still functional even if they have come into direct contact with water. Normal old flashlights are gone forever once they come into contact with water. But because of this waterproof feature you do not have to worry even if you have completely submersed the flashlight.

LED flashlights are invaluable in cases of emergency. You can be prepared anywhere you go because you can bring them anywhere and they last longer, so its available for your use anytime. Emergency LED flashlights are widely available in any number of stores and you can buy one for yourself so you will have your emergency back-up in case of any accident or emergency that may come your way.

American Bulldog: The Minimally Tampered Breed Of The Bulldogs

By Troy Richardson

As a member breed of the bulldog family, the American Bulldog is well-known not only in the US but around the world, too, as a reliable family pet. Having descended from the bull baiting breeds of England, the American Bulldog remained to be the closest look-alike of the now extinct Old English Bulldog. Other bulldogs in Europe were highly altered but not the American Bulldog whose appearance remained as is even for many decades.

There are two types of American Bulldog and these are the Johnson type and the Scott type. These names were derived from breeders who were essential for developing them and they are John D. Johnson and Allen Scott. These types are also commonly called the Classic or Bully type and the Standard or Performance type.

Often, the American Bulldog is confused for a white Boxer as they both hold similar features. Describing the former, however, it gives off a body that looks strong, well-built, muscular and stocky and its jaw possesses great strength. The weight of this breed ranges from 60 to 125 pounds while the height goes between 20 and 28 inches.

Commonly, the coat of this breed is smooth, short, and is a light to moderate shedder. It often appears in colors of solid white, solid white with black markings, red, brown, brindle and fawn. Brown is the standard eye color while the mouth drools especially on dogs that have looser lips.

The Johnson type, compared to the Scott type has bigger and heavier body and shorter muzzle. The Scott type is simply described as a leggier and bigger Pit Bull. In general, the American Bulldog breed is more agile, has longer legs, and is faster than its English relatives.

The American Bulldog possesses a cheerful and sociable behavior, is comfortable being with the family and does not mind befriending other humans so long as they don't pose a threat. This dog has a strong bond with its master and is sociable to other animals given that he is trained in obedience and socialization at an early age. This dog also needs a constant share of attention because if not, it may develop destructive behaviors.

The American Bulldog is an energetic working dog that's why constant activities will suit it best. A wide yard is also sufficient enough for its activities such as running or chasing. This breed also requires daily exercise such as walking in order to keep its mind and body healthy.

The ascendants of this breed were the bull baiting breeds of 18th century England. When bull baiting was banned, fanciers aimed to tame and develop smaller versions of them. Some of these newly developed breeds were brought to the US and were further developed to create the modern bulldogs; the American Bulldog is one of them.

Studying Skateboarding Tricks.

By Todd Martin

So, you've seen all the tricks, stunts and maneuvers that world famous skateboarders such as Tony Hawk have pulled off over the years, and you've decided that you want to be a skateboarder yourself. Congratulations! Not only is skateboarding fun and a great way to stay in shape (really, it is), but, should you become good enough and talented enough, you can actually make a nice and profitable living as a professional street or trick skateboarder. Just imagine when you fill out an application form for a credit card, and you come to the box where it asks for your occupation - and you write in professional skateboarder. That sounds pretty cool, doesn't it?

Ahead of you embark on your skateboarding career; there are maybe a few things that you must be aware of with reference to skateboards as well as the skateboard traditions itself. Even if it's only been around for sixty years (roughly), skateboarding has merely exploded from a revolutionary activity into a conventional pop-culture incident. Terms such as trucks, grip tape, decks, wheels and more are now understood by people who aren't basically a great deal into the activity of skateboarding. Largely, people who skateboard are a high-spirited, laid-back kind who basically love life and don't take themselves too seriously - even if they take skateboarding very seriously.

In its simplest and most basic form, skateboarding is nothing more than riding or pulling off stunts on a skateboard. That's it, really. However, as with many other things in life, there is much more to skateboarding that simply standing on a deck and rolling along the street. Skateboarding requires a great amount of skill, strength and balance. Without having strong physical attributes, you won't be able to skateboard for a great distance or for a great amount of time. In that sense, skateboarding is much like riding a bike - it's all about practice, practice and more practice. You have to learn to twist and shift your body weight, how to stop, accelerate, and turn and more. Remember, nobody picks up anything on the first try, so it'll take some time before you really are able to master the skateboard. But, with a little practice and a lot of patience, you'll be able to do it!

One more thing to consider about skateboarding is that the world in fact is your canvas. If you're gifted, expert and bold enough, you and your skateboard can obviously go wherever and whenever moreover do everything. From steering hectic city streets to grinding down rails to all over in between, a top skateboarder by no means looks at anything in his or her way as a hurdle. To a certain extent, they look at hindrance as prospects to enlarge their own limits and expertise. Also, over a period of time, you may as well! The great thing regarding skateboarding is that, it doesn't actually matter if you're young or old. If you have a zeal for trying and learning as much as you can about it, in that case you'll soon be able to - at the very least - try all the tricks and moves that your preferred skateboarders carry out habitually.

Since skate boarding is becoming one of the most popular sports in the world, there are numbers of manufacturers that produce skateboard decks, such as Sec9 Channel 9, Plan B skateboard decks, Zoo York skateboard decks etc. You can find professional skateboard decks in goskateorgohome.com which is an online skateboards and accessories supplier providing many brands of complete skateboards like Barfoot Takayama and accessories.

Poker Personages : The Bookworm

By Kallikrates Sabas

This will be a ongoing profiles of the poker personalities you will meet while playing poker

Ally or Enemy?

Don't event think that a bookworm can be your friend because it will only spell out disaster. They might put you in a verge of craziness when they start teaching you and other players on how to play the game and telling all of you what's right and what's not. Their kind is really annoying. They are full of bad habits like criticizing someone when they made a bad play and laughing at their mistakes. The concerned player may wish to transfer at a friendlier table or will try to redeem himself by playing a lot better. It only means one thing, you should not worry about the ordinary skills that the bookworm may have but let your concern dwell on how they behave at the poker table.

Selectivity and Aggression

The bookworm personality plays tight during pre-flop; playing somewhere between 20%-25% of the hands they got. But it is during post-flop that this kind of players panic. They have read a lot of books about poker - they probably brought something in their bag for luck - but these books have a variety of ideas which push these bookworms to continue playing after the flop. The reasoning would be, all players have their own weakness and when they write a book they will correct their weaknesses. So the bookworm have all those weaknesses in mind from reading those books and will result in a too loose and too aggressive type of play during post-flop.

The strength of a starting hand is what almost all poker players agree with and this is the only part that the bookworm absolutely understands.

To summarize the game play of a bookworm - they are somehow aggressive in their play but will play loosely when someone aggravates them with the only exemption of them holding the best card in the table.

Predictability

Yes, the bookworms know about deceptive plays as what they learn from the book. But they are nothing near to a deceptive player. Their style can be read clearly because they often use the same one.

Poker IQ

This type of poker personality has a very low poker IQ even if they knew a lot about poker through the books they read. But in the moment of truth and when something inevitable happens they don't how to make adjustments. Their number one problem is that they only follow what they read from the books and never think for themselves. The author of the books they read generalize the advice they gave and is not applicable on the bookworm's present condition because it varies. They worship their books like it is the word of God and they think that by reading them they will know what to do on a specific condition.

"Hey, BOOKWORMS You're playing poker not building a desk, you can't just follow instructions!"

Bookworms will have a hard time comprehending the motives behind a player's move. They expect that all players must follow what they do and those who don't will be criticize and laugh at.

What You Should Do

In order for you to defeat a bookworm, it is important that you become their "friend". Then start up a talk with them and they will show you what they knew and will eventually brag about their game play.

But if ever they strike out your effort in befriending them then its time to put up your aggressiveness into play. Stay aggressive and don't be afraid to bet against them if they will.

It cannot be denied that NCAA Football 10 simply gets better and better each year.

Just as is to be expected, this year's version incorporates numerous new features but of course, just as in previous years, you can still play against other people online. In fact, the game now includes a mode known as "Season Showdown" in which you get to play fore your favorite school. To start with; you get to choose one school to which you would like to play and of course, the more you play and win, the more points you end up getting for your school. In addition to trivia games, there are also a number of other interactive games you can play in order to win points. When you get to the end of the year, the school with the most points is awarded the Season Showdown National Championship. Of course, as you can imagine, this is an ideal way for you to interact with a number of other players, not to mention the fact that you get to cheer your school on.

The dynasty mode is still one of the best features of the game. With this version, you can actually take it a step further and create your own school. Creating your own school is a great way to put your stamp on every single thing that has to do with your program. You're going to name the school, design the logo, pick the fight song, and create your team. You can even customize individual players to play on your team. It's a great feature and it just adds to the overall intrigue of dynasty mode.

The game play is still second to none. For those used to playing Madden, you get a different type of football game. For example, the ability to run the option is a fun feature that you don't get in an NFL game.

Over and above what has already been mentioned, the game planning feature is also incredibly cool in that it allows you to put to a certain amount of the emphasis on the game. In other words, one can always decide to put more emphasis on opening up running lanes should you be having trouble running the ball. Of course, you do need to bear in mind that if you do this it will result in you getting more holding calls.

The strategic playcalling mode is a welcome addition to the game as well. This allows you to keep your opponents guessing and catch them off guard. You can run several different plays out of the same formation. Catch them sleeping with a play-action pass or a reverse.

The bottom line is; at present there is nothing out there really which can convey to NCAA Football 10 simply because it remains in a class of its own within the gaming industry. If you would like to once again lose yourself in the thrill and excitement of college football, then you the need to check the game out today.

Zimmer Durom Hip Replacements Have High Failure Rate

By Maxwell Schmickman

Many American's receive joint replacements each year. It is a way for elderly people, and for those who have overused their joints, to get more years of activity and enjoyment out of their lives. Because this procedure has become so routine, many do not question their doctors, or the manufacturers of their joint replacements about the quality of the technology that they are using. This has led to practices that can actually cause injury to you or your loved ones. If you know someone who has received a hip replacement, read on for this important information about the manufacturer Zimmer Durom.

There could be a large number of reasons that your loved one, or even yourself, needed to receive a hip replacement made by Zimmer Durom. The procedure, which is known as either hip arthroplasty, or hip replacement more commonly, involves removing the original hip joint and replacing it with an artificially manufactured one. This process is done for a number of reasons, including arthritis pain, located in the joint, the normal wear and tear on the joint because of age, and as part of the treatment for a hip fracture.

The modern hip replacement operation has been taking place since the 1970's, which is why the idea may seem so commonplace to you. A hip replacement, such as those from Zimmer Durom, most commonly involves three separate pieces, designed to mimic how a natural knee joint would. They include a metal replacement for part of the femur. A component which allows for movement like the joint naturally would, and either bone cement or screws to hold the contraption in place.

One of the most common issues with hip replacements is the need for revision, or a further surgery to correct issues with the implant. Unfortunately, this is something many elderly and even healthy young patients cannot tolerate. It is the focus of the Zimmer Durom recall. The Zimmer Durom device was used by doctors in younger patients that would normally need a hip replacement, as it was designed to be long lasting. However, almost 12 percent of these patients needed surgery again within two years, prompting an outcry.

Though Zimmer Durom has maintained that this high failure rate is caused by surgeon error, it pulled the replacement from the market in July 2008 after its own internal study found that 8 percent of the devices needed revision in two years. This has let many doctors and lawyers to believe the issue is with the replacement.

If you or a loved one received a Zimmer Durom hip replacement, something your doctor will know, you may have the right to join a class action law suit, even if your replacement has not yet failed.. Be wary of signing anything by Zimmer Durom, as that may be a release taking away this right.

You should look at the reaction of the longs as soon as the rate begins to go south, this way you will be able to determine if the market is sitting on a large number of long positions and whether traders want to dump their positions. In case of a spike followed by a sharp V recovery, you should avoid shorting the pair.

More buyers entering the market at lower levels tells you that the market is not heavily long and traders are seeing it as an opportunity to buy low. These lower prices mean bargain prices for you if you wish to accumulate long positions.

Moving averages (MAs) are among the oldest, true and tested indicators. Widely used moving averages are the 50, 100 and 200 day MAs.

Moving averages are lagging indicators and relate with the past price action. MAs can be used effectively in day trading for entering and exiting positions in one way markets.

During times of sharp moves, it becomes difficult for the traders to enter a position since retracements are far and few. This makes them confused and forces them to start taking arbitrary decisions.

Moving Averages can be used as dynamic support and resistance levels in such situations. This will give results superior than the static support and resistance levels used by majority of the traders.

The advantages of using MAs this way gives you dynamic levels to trade off and gauge price action. MAs can help you avoid using arbitrary levels when you should take profit.

Understanding The Market Sentiment (Part I)

By Ahmad Hassam

Most traders have a love hate relationship with the market thinking that the market is either against them or for them. Do you see the market as a big mechanical matrix which is devoid of emotions? How do you view the forex market is very important.

The truth is that forex market is just the compressed display of emotions. At anyone time the market is emanating the emotions of currency speculators around the world.

A market is like a big living organism made up of millions of cells. Each cell carries its own functions and interacts with other cells of the body keeping the living organism alive around the clock.

Knowing what the market thinks and how it thinks is crucial to trading success. A forex market comprises millions of participants acting out their perceptions and emotions.

Ultimately, you as the trader are dealing with other traders out there in the market. These traders can be big institutional players or an independent individual trader like you and me. You need to know what the other traders are thinking at anyone time.

Market sentiment is the most important factor that drives the markets especially the currency markets and other financial markets. What is the market sentiment? Market sentiment is simply what the majority of the market participants are perceived to be thinking or feeling about the market at anyone time.

Traders form their opinions based on emotions regarding their strengths or weaknesses relative to other currencies. Traders tend to act based on what they feel and think of certain currencies. Market sentiment explains the current actions of the market as well as the future course of action. Market sentiment sums up to the overall dominating emotions of the market participants.

One thing you should know is that market sentiment is not logical. It is primarily based on traders emotions. These emotions are one of the greatest factors in the determination of the currency exchange rate.

Market sentiment is like a fickle lover. It is capable of changing its mind based on new information. This incoming new information can upset the existing emotion. Market sentiment can be bearish, bullish or just plain confused.

If the majority of the market participants want to buy that currency, the market sentiment is bullish. If the majority wants to sell the currency, the market sentiment is deemed to be bearish. When most market participants are unsure of what to do at a particular moment, the sentiments end up being mixed up.

Understanding the current market sentiment and exploiting it with an appropriate trading strategy can help maximize your trading profits. If you can understand what the other traders are thinking and why the market is doing what it is doing, you will be in a better position to plan the entry and exit for your trade. In Part II of this article we will discuss what factors influence the market sentiment.

Assist Muscle Mass Even When Over 40

By Steffanie G Esquire

Life doesn't end at 40 even though your metabolism slows down with age. You can still improve your muscle mass after 40 years old. There are a few different techniques you can use to increase your metabolism which will help you increase muscle mass. Some of the more common ways are exercise, nutrition and massage therapy. First, diet is one of the most important aspects to increase metabolism and add muscle mass. Working out to build up muscles is another way. Massage therapy helps to improve your metabolism by improving blood flow and invigorating the muscles.

One of the issues of aging is a slowing metabolism. As our metabolism slows down we will also tend to lose muscle mass. With a slowing of metabolism also comes with a lack of energy on our part to better control it. This can leave use with the spare tire around our midsection. This is just a normal occurrence as we age.

Obviously, as we get older we face different issues to add muscle mass then when we were much younger. Most people metabolize slower than they did in their younger years. There are ways to reduce this slowing and to establish habits and routines that help us to increase our metabolic rate.

The challenge to improving your muscle mass over 40 is that you have to work harder to get above a slower metabolic rate. If you work hard and push yourself, you can get your metabolism going to build up more muscle mass. One important key is that muscles burn more calories than fat which helps to increase the metabolic rate.

Start with your diet. It is best to work with a nutritionist. Find out the right combination of foods and supplements to help you build up mass. Dont try to change your diet from one extreme to another. Start off slowly and establish a balanced approach.

Exercise is an important driver of metabolism. If you don't exercise, your metabolism will stay low, but if you do exercise, then your metabolism will be increased. The types of exercise needs to line up with your goals of building muscle mass. Start your routine and keep at. The toughest time is always in the beginning, but stick with it and it will get easier and easier.

As you start to exercise, you will feel muscles you may not have felt for a long time. Add massage therapy to your routine to help soothe your muscles after a hard work out. Massage chairs are particularly convenient and can be used before and after your work out. Warm up your muscles with a massage chair and then warm down after. This will soothe and relax you.

Some men and especially women are hesitant to build muscle mass. They fear that they are adding bulk. Some think this may make them more man-ly. Interestingly, this is not possible because women lack the needed testosterone at high levels. A woman will more than likely just gain some curves, which hardly makes them more masculine. So ladies do not fear having muscles!

Always start with the basic to start gaining muscle mass over 40. Your body will take longer to get where you want and you will have to work harder. Keep things simple and focus on your diet, exercise program and getting massage therapy. A massage chair can be an excellent asset in keeping fit and feeling good over 40 years old.

Improving your muscle mass over 40 is an achievable goal. Getting there requires hard work, determination, perseverance, consistency and patience. This is not an overnight process. It is a building process. Plan on it realistically taking 2 to 3 months before you will notice any difference in your outward appearance. The good thing is that well before that you will feel the physical effects by enjoying more energy and strength in your body.

Knowing Major Stock Indexes (Part II)

By Ahmad Hassam

Modified capitalization weighting involves adjustments to the capitalizations of the various component issues of the Nasdaq-100 index. The NDX contract at the CBOE is based on Nasdaq-100 as is the MNX. The Nasdaq-100 is a modified capitalization weighted index.

Frank Russell Company is one of the leading global investment consultants. It is also involved in performance measurement, analysis and investment management. Russell 2000 is the well known benchmark for small capitalization sector. Several Russell Indexes have become benchmarks for specific areas of investment management.

Russell 3000 Index as the name implies includes 3000 issues and these 3000 companies represent 98% of the investable US equities. The index is adjusted for certain factors such as cross holdings and the number of pairs in hands.

Russell 3000 is further split into subsets like Russell 1000 Index. It covers the top 1000 about 92% of the value of the entire 3,000 stock index. The Russell 2000 Index is the smallest 2000 companies in the Russell 3000 Index.

Dow Jones is the publisher of the Wall Street journal. The Wall Street Journal is probably one of the most perfect business franchises from the business point of view. The net worth of most of its readers is in seven figures. Wall Street Journal is a franchise that is very hard to duplicate.

Over the year, DJIA became an important business barometer. It grew to encompass 30 large industrial companies. Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) comprising 12 smokestack companies made its debut in the year 1896.

The DJIA is still one of the worlds best known stock measures and consists of 30 largest and most liquid blue chip stocks in the US. The average is maintained by the editors of the Wall Street Journal.

The DJIA unlike the S&P 500, Russell 3000 Indexes or the Nasdaq-100 is a price weighted average. The highest price issues hold the most influence over the average. Recently Microsoft (MSFT) and Intel were added to the DJIA.

A 1% move in a $100 IBM stock would have a greater impact than a 1% move in a $40 Wal-Mart stock. ETFs exit on many Dow Indexes like the DJIA, the Dow Jones Total Market Index, the Dow Jones Global Titan Index and various sector indexes.

Wilshire flagship index is the Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index. Wilshire serves over 400 organizations in over 20 countries across the globe representing over $2 trillion in assets.

Over the years, it has increased to 6500 issues representing the increase in the number of companies in the US. It represents the broadest index for the US equity markets.

The Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) database contains nearly 25,000 securities covering 50 countries. It calculates nearly 3,000 indexes daily and services a client base of over 1,200 worldwide. One of the advantages of MCSI and its foreign indexes is consistency.

The History Of Reno's Mapes Hotel

By Ross Everett

On January 31, 2000, the historic Mapes Hotel in Reno was imploded by 75 pounds of explosives tucked into the art-deco structures support columns. The destruction of the Mapes put an end to years of efforts to preserve the building via lawsuits, redevelopment proposals, and grass roots action. The National Trust for Historic Preservation took up the cause of the Mapes, and challenged the destruction in a suit that eventually reached the Nevada Supreme Court.

While the logic and necessity of demolishing the Mapes is very questionable, one thing that is certain is that the hotel was an important part of Northern Nevada history. The Mapes opened in 1947 and with it ushered in a new era for casino gambling and the state of Nevada. Despite some historical revisionism that suggests that the modern era began in Las Vegas with Bugsy Siegel's famed Flamingo, the Mapes was actually the first building in America to have a hotel, casino and live entertainment under the same roof. The Mapes attracted countless celebrities who'd make it their home when business brought them to Northern Nevada--this included movie stars like Clark Gable, TV stars like the cast of 'Bonanza' and political power brokers like infamous anti-Communist crusader Joseph McCarthy.

In the 50s and 60s it became, along with Lake Tahoes Cal-Neva Lodge the place to be seen in Northern Nevada. The top floor, window-walled Sky Room showcased performances by the legends: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jackie Gleason, Louis Prima, Mae West, Milton Berle, Sammy Davis, Jr., and the Marx Brothers among others. Subsequent years were not kind to downtown Reno but the Mapes continued to do well during the 60's and 70's. The hotel finally closed in 1982, due more to financial difficulties experienced by the Mapes family caused by one of their other Northern Nevada gaming properties than anything else.

Reno never experienced the massive growth that occurred in Las Vegas and southern Nevada, and for that reason the destruction of the Mapes is more open to debate than the hotel demolitions to the south. Even the demolition of The Sands"perhaps the most historically significant casino in the state"is hard to argue against given the inability of such a small property to compete in the current Las Vegas marketplace and in light of the value of the mid-strip real estate. The old properties may have historic value to pop culture historians, but their survival doesn't make economic sense. They're simply 'analog players in a digital world'.

This is not the case in Reno, where land and buildings for development in virtually every casino area are abundant. The official reason that the Mapes had to come down was that the city needed the land"which sits along the banks of the Truckee River"to expand its riverside district of art galleries, restaurants and shops. The revitalization of downtown Reno is definitely needed and a legitimate goal, but at the same time it is hard to think that the Mapes was a barrier to this. Indeed, a number of proposals for redevelopment including office space, artists lofts and upscale senior housing would have probably served to enhance the livability of the downtown area. For whatever reason, the City Redevelopment Authority wouldn't approve any of the proposals and the fate of the Mapes was sealed.

The behavior of the City Redevelopment Authority throughout the process has come into question. Overlooking the Truckee River, the hotel was perfectly placed between the downtown casino area and the riverfront district. In 1996, the city purchased the htoel and began accepting proposals for redevelopment. Despite receiving a number of proposals that made sense both in terms of their financial workability and positive impact on the downtown area, the City Redevelopment Authority nixed all of them and insisted that the hotel be razed.

Following the 2000 demolition, the lot remained vacant for over a year until a temporary ice skating rink was hastily constructed the following winter. The site now houses a permanent ice skating rink which, while not a bad use for the land, isn't the sort of game changing improvement suggested by the City Redevelopment Agency and their adamant insistence that the building be demolished. To the contrary, it appears they had no specific plan or even general idea of what to do with the land but for some reason wanted to see the hotel come down. This has led to all manner of speculation, ranging from financial self interest to a rumor that the structure was 'haunted' and needed to be destroyed to forestall future paranormal activity in Washoe County. Whatever the reason, the city of Reno lost a valuable landmark that played a significant part in the economic growth of the entire state.

Bobby Hull: The Golden Jet

By Ross Everett

Nicknamed The Golden Jet for his blond hair and his jet-like slap shot, Bobby Hull was the most feared goal scorer of the 60s and 70s He and teammate Stan Mikita were the first NHL players to use curved stick blades, which made his already wicked slapshot even more difficult to stop.

Born in rural Belleville, Ontario Hull rose quickly through the ranks of junior hockey and by the time he was 18 had joined the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks. He was a very effective rookie, and by his third year in the league was leading the NHL in scoring. In 1961, he played an important role in the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup championship victory.

In 1966, Hull broke a hallowed NHL scoring mark by becoming the first player to net more than 50 goals in a season. His 51st goal broke the record of 50 goals held by Montreal Canadien greats Bernie Boom Boom Geoffrion and Maurice Rocket Richard. Hull would go on to score 54 goals in the 1966 and would surpass that mark by scoring 58 in 1968.

In 1972, Hull signed a then unprecedented deal to jump to the upstart World Hockey Association (WHA). His compensation included a $1 million US signing bonus which all of the league's owners contributed to realizing the significance of landing Hull in terms of publicity and credibility.

In the WHA, Hull was quickly back to his old tricks. On a line with Swedish superstars Ulf Nilsson and Anders Hedberg called The Hot Line, he led the Jets to two league championship AVCO Cup victories. In 1977, he set a new professional hockey record with 77 goals in a season which surpassed Phil Espositos 1970-71 mark of 76 by a single goal.

Injuries and chronic knee trouble would finally spell the end to Hull's career in the WHA's final season of 1979-80. He would briefly attempt a comeback with the New York Rangers in 1981, but when he proved ineffective in preseason eventually retired for good.

Modern fans may be more familiar with Hulls third son, Brett Hull, who earned NHL superstar status in his own right. The Hulls are the only father/son combination to ever score 50 goals in an NHL season. Brett Hull wore his dads retired #9 in the final games, and will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

Now 70 years old, Hull is still in good health and splits his time between Ontario and Chicago. He currently serves as a PR ambassador for the Blackhawks organization. He is expected to formally induct his son into the Hall of Fame at the ceremonies later this summer.

Excel At Poker

By Simon M Skinner

Poker is one of the best loved online casino games, and it's still pretty popular in person, too. Most people learn it as their first card game. It's the one that most people play when they get together for a fun game. That means a lot of people would like to know how to win at poker, and whether there's anything they can do to tip the balance. Let's look at how you can win at poker a little more often.

The first and most important thing you need to do is play fewer hands. Online poker plays tend to throw chips into every pot, but this just means you are playing bad hands. Try to only play around 20% of your hands to maximize your chances for success.

Another common mistake is that people refuse to fold once they've made a bet already. This is a horrible mistake that's just going to see you throwing away money calling bets for hands that you cannot even win. You have to learn when to fold and you have to be fine with it, instead of taking it personally.

You should set realistic expectations and should sit down at tables that match your skill level and bankroll. A table with a higher limit not only may be too risky for you, but it will probably have players who are far more advanced than you as well.

If you don't have the skill yet, playing with the pros is just going to lose you money, and you won't even have fun doing it!

Get information through poker betting. This one might sound strange, but you might not always bet just because you have a good hand.

Betting can help you figure out what your opponents are likely to do. Defensive bets early on can help you keep from calling a bigger bet later on. Re-raises can help you figure out how credible your opponent really is.

Learn bluffing and do it well. Bluff when you need to, not all the time - the pros only use this technique when it'll help. If you bluff rarely, you'll be less likely to be called.

You should be bluffing when even if you do get called it won't be a huge loss. Depending on where you are on a table, you'll see that different hands are stronger or weaker, due to the action before or after you.

There are tons of books and guides out there that can help you learn how to play poker better. Read many different ways to win and figure out the ones that work the best when you use them. You can keep track by keeping notes of your hands or using software that automatically does it for you.

Following even just a few basic rules will allow you to enjoy poker more, and will increase the chances you have at winning.

Different Types Of Stop Loss Orders

By Ahmad Hassam

You should understand how to select stop orders to limit your potential losses and how to let profits ride. Managing risk and using systems that helps evaluate price changes is critical for a trader if he/she is to maintain a degree of profitability over time.

The descriptions of the types of stops and the pros and cons of each should help you make the right decisions for the different market conditions. Capturing as much profit as possible from winning trades should be your utmost goal. Managing risk should be your number one job.

Predetermined stop loss orders help you conquer your emotions. Stops should be part of the trading system. They should be included in your trading rules. You should also know where and when to place these stops. You should know the various types of stop loss orders.

Set a stop objective and weigh the risk/reward ratio before entering each trade. When volatility is low, stop orders can be placed close to the entry level. However, when the volatility is high, stop orders should be placed further from the entry level.

When entering a trade make sure you know where and why to put the stop order. Initially you will form an opinion based on your gut feelings that is substantiated by a trade signal.

However, you will undoubtedly get caught in the news driven price shock events. It makes the markets highly unpredictable in the short run. These news releases create price spikes that may make an adverse move against your position.

Stop orders are placed to protect against losses. These orders can also be placed to enter positions. Stop orders that you place online if the market trades at a certain price, then the order is triggered and become a market order to be filled in by the next best price available.

Sell stops are placed below the current market price and buy stops are placed above the current market price. Protective stops are used to offset a position and to protect against losses and against accrued profits.

You can set a daily dollar amount on the loss limit. If you want to risk only $250 per $100,000 standard lot position then your stop loss will be placed 25 pips from your entry point. Stops can be placed on a dollar amount per position.

Traders use 2-5% of the overall account size as their stop loss. If your trading account size is $10,000, this comes out to be $200-$500. You can also use a certain percent of your overall account size as your stop loss.

Swing traders can use the automatic trailing stop. This makes the decision making process fully automated. Many traders tend to turn winners into losers as they get in the let it ride mindset. The trailing stop reduces the chance to let trades ride.

Your CV Brochure- More Glossy Than Mercedes!

By Glenn Hughes

Most people see their CV as a bit of a boring document designed to give the recruiter some useful information to talk about at an interview. This is simply untrue. A CV (or curriculum vitae) is one of the biggest tools in your armoury when it comes to selling yourself. It is a high end magazine, not a cheap leaflet

I have no idea why, but people in the UK (and other English speaking countries as well) tend to hide their light under a bushel. The CV is not the place for shrinking violets, it is a place to sell, to brag and boast and most of all to show a potential employer just how valuable an asset that you will be to their business

Coming over like a pushy double glazing salesman in a CV will no help you. Not unless you're looking for a job selling double glazing anyway! Quiet confidence in factual achievements leap out of the page as they are honest and have the recruiter wanting to know more. Achievements in the past show a track record that is likely to be repeated (at least in the recruiters eyes)

An old story says that to be a good liar, you need a good memory. Far simpler I believe then to tell the truth, particularly on your CV. As well as making you bulletproof in an interview, just focusing on real, truthful achievements removes all the stress that comes with having to guard against a lie. Be honest, it's easier in the long run

A CV is amongst other things a detailed document. It is meant to show the reader a potted life story of the subject of the CV. Including significant levels of detail starts to colour what can be a very bland document. Make it easy for an employer to find the information that they need to know. If they can't find the information that they want quickly and easily, your CV will be binned and you won't know why

Your educational and professional qualifications should be listed separately. Educational qualifications are gained through institutions like colleges, schools, etc. Professional qualifications are gained through companies, training providers and the like, They are different and should be listed separately

Passing a driving test of any sort shows people that you have a degree of persistence, independence and stickability that many people simply don't have. It is a common assumption that everyone drives. They don't. Make sure that anyone reading your CV knows that you can drive (if you can), and specifically, which classes of vehicle that you are licensed to take out on the road

Never ever put your date of birth on to any document that may be passed on electronically. You never know who will read your CV and what they may use the information for. Identity theft is a very real issue, so please don't make it any easier than it already is for someone to steal yours

Using Commodity Prices in Forex Trading

By Ahmad Hassam

Commodities, namely gold and oil, have a strong and substantial correlation with forex markets. By understanding this relationship between gold, oil and currency pairs, you as a forex trader can gauge risk, forecast price changes as well as understand exposure.

Gold and oil prices generally tend to move based on almost similar fundamental forces that affect some currency pairs. Four major currencies, the Canadian Dollar, the Swiss Franc the New Zealand Dollar and the Australian Dollar, are considered to be commodity currencies.

The AUD, NZD, CAD and CHF all have strong correlation with the gold prices. Natural gold reserves and currency laws in these countries result in almost mirror like movements. The CAD also tends to move somewhat with the oil prices.

However, the correlation between CAD and oil prices is not that strong. Each one of these currencies has a correlation with gold and oil and the fundamental factors behind doing so.

Knowledge of the fundamentals behind these movements, their direction and strength could be an effective way to discover trends in both the markets. There is a strong relationship between the gold prices and US Dollar as well.

During times of geopolitical instability as well as when fears of global recession become strong, traders tend to shy away from Dollar and instead turn to gold as a safe haven for their investments.

Therefore, as Dollar depreciates, gold prices tend to appreciate as wary investors become afraid of losing their wealth. As US is going to print more and more dollars to finance its budget deficits, USD will depreciate and gold will appreciate. AUD/USD, NZD/USD and USD/CHF currency pairs tend to mirror gold movements.

Global energy needs are wholly dependent on oil supplies. Oil prices usually tend to have a huge impact on the global economy. Dont forget, the early part of 2008 when oil and commodity prices jumped skyward taking the global economy to the brink of recession. Oil prices did come down due to the stock market crash but it is being forecasted that it will rise again when the global economy comes out of recession and the demand for oil rises again. USD/CAD currency pair tends to show an oil relationship. The major reason for this relationship is the heavy dependence of US and Canadian economies on foreign oil.

Generally speaking, commodity prices are considered to be a leading indicator of currency prices. The relationship can be positive or negative. As such, commodity block traders monitor gold and oil prices to forecast movements in currency pairs. The knowledge of this relationship between commodities and currencies can help forex traders to diversity risk exposure using different products. The combination of gold and forex trading can be very profitable.
